What do you get when you combine one of the most popular sports with a competitive, fun-loving group of employees backed by a company that places a priority on team building and workplace culture?
Team MaintenX!
That’s what we call our two groups that recently competed in an unofficial Tampa fun-league golf event and an official industry association golf event. Each is just another example of the culture of camaraderie and teamwork that enables our company to stand apart from others and succeed on so many levels.
The first golfing event was a championship tournament for a winter league at Topgolf Tampa. Our team entered the final rounds in a strong first-place position, but because of a couple of fast-moving winter illnesses that sidelined some of our team members, our team ended up dropping to finish the season in third place in early March. 😥 But giving our all and having fun were the most important goals, and that we did!
Congrats to the whole MaintenX team that took part, who from left to right in the photo here include these members:
- Roberto Pajon, Director of Projects.
- Ismael Rios, Quality Control Manager.
- Josh Pound, Training and Development Manager.
- Amy Abril, Marketing and Research Manager.
And not in the photo but definitely part of the team are these members:
- Jorge Bravo, Senior Regional Service Manager, HVAC.
- Mike Garcia, Regional Service Coordinator.
- Oscar Pajon, Equipment Operations Manager.
Our second golfing event was the Spring Golf Classic held by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) which was also in early March. The tournament allowed several of our maintenance experts, who are members of the organization, to compete in a large golf event as well as network with many of their industry peers.
MaintenX was a silver sponsor a paid for a four-person team and MaintenX signage at the event, which took place at the Eagles Golf Club at Odessa, Florida.
We came in third! Congratulations to these four members of the MaintenX team:
- Jorge Bravo, Senior Regional Service Manager, HVAC.
- Roberto Pajo, Director of Projects.
- Ismael Rios, Quality Control Manager.
- Oscar Pajon, Equipment Operations Manager.
All in all, both golfing events were wins on three levels. First, they provided amazing opportunities for camaraderie and competition, and for challenging each other and having fun.
Finally, the events were made possible in large part by the generous and enthusiastic support of our leadership team, which funded our participation and continues to make a strong commitment to fostering a culture of camaraderie and teamwork in everything our company does.
Go Team MaintenX!
